Chemical Pump Installation Methods and Precautions

Chemical pumps are critical equipment in chemical production. Proper installation directly impacts equipment performance and operational safety. Strictly adhere to installation specifications to ensure stable system operation.

Full preparation is required before installation. First, inspect the pump body and accessories for integrity and verify that the model specifications meet design requirements. The installation location should be well-ventilated and away from heat sources. Ensure the foundation's load-bearing capacity meets the equipment's operating load. The foundation surface must be flat, with a levelness error within 0.1mm/m. A dedicated concrete foundation is recommended.

Pipe connections are crucial for installation. Flexible connections should be used for the suction and discharge pipes to prevent stress transfer to the pump body. The pipe inner diameter must match the pump inlet and outlet dimensions, minimizing local resistance. During installation, ensure the concentricity of the pump shaft and motor shaft, with a deviation of no more than 0.05mm. All connecting flanges must be sealed with matching gaskets. Metal spiral wound gaskets are recommended for high-pressure systems.

Electrical installation requires special attention to explosion-proof requirements. Motor wiring must comply with explosion-proof standards, and the grounding resistance must not exceed 4Ω. Control wiring should be routed independently to avoid parallel routing with power cables. Before starting, manually crank the pump to check for free movement of rotating parts and to ensure there are no obstructions.

During the commissioning phase, the pump should first be operated at no load to check for correct steering and abnormal vibration and noise. Gradually adjust the flow rate to the rated value and observe the pressure gauge and temperature to ensure they are within normal ranges. It is recommended to check all seals for leaks after two hours of continuous operation.

During routine maintenance, regularly check bearing lubrication and monitor mechanical seal leakage. During extended periods of inactivity, the pump should be completely drained to prevent crystallization or corrosion damage to components. Proper installation and proper maintenance are key to ensuring the long-term, stable operation of chemical pumps.
